Fund the next hike, garden day, and campfire.

Every dollar goes to gear, guides, transportation, and permits — never to salaries. We're 100% volunteer-led.

Important — 501(c)(3) status pending

Valley Adventure Foundation is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation. Our federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status application is currently pending IRS review. Until the IRS determination letter is issued, donations may not be tax-deductible for federal income tax purposes. If approved, the IRS typically grants exemption retroactive to our formation date — but this is not guaranteed. Please consult your tax advisor.

Other ways to give

  • Check by mail — email valleyadventurefoundation@gmail.com and we'll send you a mailing address.
  • Employer matching — many employers double or triple charitable gifts. Reach out and we'll walk you through the paperwork.
  • Donor-advised funds — grants from a DAF can be directed to Valley Adventure Foundation once our 501(c)(3) is issued.
  • In-kind gifts — camping gear, kayaks, garden supplies, and vehicle donations. Contact us before shipping.
  • Estate & legacy giving — talk with your advisor about naming VAF in your plans.

Financial transparency

As a California nonprofit corporation, VAF files an annual return (IRS Form 990-N or 990-EZ) and California FTB Form 199 and Attorney General Form RRF-1 each year. Financial summaries and board minutes are available to donors and grantmakers upon request. Copies will be posted to our Impact & Financials page as they are completed.
